Awards and recognition I have received for my general work in arts and culture.

A recipient of the "Space to Take Place" Award by the Royal Netherlands Embassy, for people who have made a contribution to the transformation of South African society. Other recipients included Dr Mamphele Ramphele, Sibongile Khumalo, Ferial Haffajee, Pieter Dirk Uys, Moeletsi Mbeki and Pallo Jordan.
Appointed Programme Director of the World Summit on Arts and Culture (2009)
Appointed Artist-in-Residence, Kosmopolis and Theater de Appel, The Hague, (2008)
Appointed as the Secretariat to the Arterial Network (2007)
Appointed as artist-in-residence at University of Cape Town’s Drama Department (2006)
Listed in Insig magazine as one of the top ten most influential people in arts and culture in South Africa (2006).
Listed in the first editions of the Financial Mail’s “The Little Black Book: A guide to black professionals in South Africa.”
Selected the Arts and Culture Trust Arts Journalist of the Year for The Cultural Weapon column on Artslink.co.za, 2001.
Awarded the Cape Tercentenary Foundation’s Molteno Silver Medal for contributing to the performing arts, 2001.
Listed in the Mail and Guardian’s 'Top 100 South Africans' 1997 supplement.
